I need your input... what do you think?

I've waited to show you my "new" living room.  I just can't seem to settle on the "add-ons", i.e. rug, pillows, artwork etc.  I waited for over a month for the rug I thought would be perfect for the room.  It arrived.  At first I was happy with it and then, for a split second, I thought, "that looks like I spread a kitchen towel on the floor", and it was over!  Now I can't get that image out of my head.  Every time I look, there is that darn dish cloth!

These photos aren't good quality, but I just had to get your input.  What do you think?  Towel? Rug?

Definitly a rug, reminds me of something you might design.

My idea - uses some pillows that go with (match) the rug. Up on the couches is far enough away that it looks like an accent not matchey-matchey.

Looks nice.

Doesn't look like kitchen towels I would buy. Think jhm's idea of pillows could work.

Bottom left me though is if you like it or not. If you don't now, you probably won't later.

I like the rug; it complements the stoneware. I like the colorful accents on the wall. To me, all the grey conservative furniture is not your usual look. I think you are holding back...:) I like your blog and all your work, Good luck...you will be happy when you have what you want.

I think it looks like a rug and not a towel. The thicker, taller "stripes" or "patches" is what cinches it as a rug for me. I agree that once you complete accessorizing with pillows, etc that it will pull it all together for you.
