Wanna blow your mind?

The artist Valeriya Kutsan (a make-up artist who makes art on faces),  collaborated with  Alexander Khokhlov, (a photographer of great talent), and together they came up with this, these are all actual faces, just paint on faces!...

Just blows my mind!!

My book "My Point Exactly" has sold out.  Over 8000 copies are gone, ( just a few left for me). I hate to see the designs from the book go to needlepoint heaven not to be seen again, right?  Therefore...

The first of them, "FORTUNE" is back as a kit, or instruction booklet only, on my Etsy site.  It comes in three colorways and is perfect, just perfect, as a holiday project, a stitched piece for a dear friend, or a gift in the form of a kit, for a fellow stitcher.

The instructions come with detailed stitching illustrations and charts as well as instructions for finishing the piece as shown in these photos.  The Ultrasuede backing, the beads and a template that aides in getting the attractive shape, all included.  Fibers, canvas are there as well.

The kit includes all the goodies!!  Start with canvas, fibers, (silk overdyes, ribbon and metallics), glass beads, Ultrasuede for backing, (really yummy colors), and the lovely instructions.

If you know anything about me, you know that one of my fetishes is presentation.  For this holiday season I had beautiful Adorn wrapping paper made in order to offer each item perfectly wrapped, ready to go!  If you'd like your purchase wrapped, just send us a note!

Is finishing not for you?  You can send it on over to us. We will be happy to finish it for you, we just can't promise it for the holidays, sorry...  ($40 for the finishing).  Send us a note for more information.

So, like I said...  right here on Etsy.

Symmetry playground, it's a blast!

I picked 8 photos and cropped them into different shapes.  Then I put them together to form a rectangle of all the photos in random order.  Next I flipped and mirrored to make four symmetrical quadrants. And this is what I got.  Oh my, I can smell another addiction!!

PS... these are the photos I started with...

Crochet, like needlepoint, can surprise you!

Jo Hamilton takes crochet to a whole other universe.  No Vanna White afghans here! She "paints" portraits with yarn using simple crochet stitches.

I am so excited when I find a fiber artist that knocks my socks off!

I am very humbled by this talent.

Bread the thread, or thread the bread?

Judith Klausner, from Somerville MA, is an artist with a creative perspective on the small, overlooked bits of life.
Here is a sampling...

Wait till you see her Oreo Cookies!

I'm back from a week of joy and excitement.

Welcoming our grandson, Ruben Morris Wolf, named after my father (Ruben), and Orin's grandfather, (Morris).  Parents, sister, grandparents and wonderful aunt and photographer, Nina, are enjoying every moment.
Nina has taken some beautiful photographs these past few days.

Yummy! I have a new -----

Now I can write and chart instructions from anywhere and everywhere!

and just a little something from an amazing artist, Chris Maynard, whose art is done on feathers.

What an amazing weekend I had!

Up in the beautiful area of Syracuse, New York, with a group of wonderful stitchers who were anxious to learn, listen and share, my weekend was a blast.

We studied and stitched GAYLE.

You see those gorgeous monsters inside the Jessicas?  Those nasty, beautiful, challenging but rewarding woven centers? I was not a favorite person for the first few hours of the workshop when teaching how to accomplish those little round lovelies.  With the growling came many a laugh, which made it hurt much less...

See... they are all smiling at the end of the workshop!

Even Kathy, (the most gracious host in all of Northern America),
who wouldn't let me take her picture, is smiling!

The weekend was so amazing it even made me forget the lady who, upon my arrival to Syracuse, ran into me because she wasn't interested in stop signs, and banged up my car.
