Please, Please, Please, can we go one week without the flu hitting our home???

The only bright side is that I was looking up flu viruses, and found that they are quite beautiful?!?! How bizarre...

Needlepoint and President Kennedy?

Richard Bassett, artist, has a new series of needlepoint pillows based on photographs from that terrible day, November 22nd, 1963, when President Kennedy was assassinated.  Needlepoint scenes of images taken in Dallas, some well known images. His artist statement on these pieces explains their significance.

In our climate of visual inundation, these images, which once shocked and grieved a nation, now feel all too familiar and commonplace. Is this a consequence of time or has the daily onslaught of visual violence dulled our senses to a such a degree that it’s difficult to see them for what they are? And, can the shock of seeing these images on pillows momentarily snap us back to their reality?

What are your thoughts?

My hearts are bursting!

I've decorated the front page of my shop "Dangles" in red.
It's bright, it's warm and it's in honor of LOVE!

I've also added these amazingly pretty heartfelt gifts, for you or a close buddy; miniature scissors hanging off a heart key ring with a metal heart to complete the love.  These come in a very cool little wood box.  It closes by a flexible top with a wooden button and elastic band.  These are so perfect, they come in four color options and will bring a smile every time they are used!
Check them out HERE, only $24 for the combo.

Try these, you will LOVE them!

If you've listened to my chat on "Fiber Talk" you know that I love sharing great finds with you. These are certainly great! These very large stainless steel rings, with sharp looking brass screw closures are a fantastic solution to storing and hanging your fiber skeins. They work for over 100 skeins, seriously! Take a look at the photo below, there are over 40 skeins on the ring and that doesn't begin to fill the capacity of this cool device.

The measurements are 4" at widest point by 5 5/8" length.

$7.50 each

Stop by our Etsy shop and take a look.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Even to the most cynical of us, there is a charm in the sweetness which is Valentine's Day. I didn't always feel this way, in fact I think that the holiday can be super cheesy at times, but when I put my cynical self aside, my spirits are lifted.

Browsing Pinterest it is amazing to see the amount of effort some crafty parents, along with their kids, put in to making gifts for friends and classmates.

One of the most simple decorations for the day uses yarn: sweet yarn wrapped hearts.  A little cardboard, a bit of tape, and about a yard of red yarn allow the little ones to say: "look what I  made!!"

An hour crafting with kids and grandkids is absolutely the best way to spend quality time with them. (Remember here?).  What I love more than anything is the chats we have while we work away. Oh my, the information you can get in that quiet time!!

I guess yarn, hearts and kids are quite popular, I found two more examples below.

During the month of February, just because, I'll be putting in a cute red Ultrasuede® heart in every package sent out to you, my fellow Valentines.
