I love doing giveaways so here comes another one. This time it's an eyeglass case I made. Ultrasuede with a small needlepoint piece to match. It has a wrist handle and velcro closure. Bold colors to make it easy to find in your purse.

To win, tell us about one time you could not find your glasses and how they eventually showed up. I know this happened to you. I know because it happens to me 5 times daily. Maybe this giveaway will help?

Just click on the comments tab at the bottom of this post and tell us your story.
I read each and every comment so make my day!

Love love LOVE seeing the details of how you made these. The finishing is terrific but I particularly love the NP insert and how you used two shades of Ultrasuede on the strap. Very clever!

Thanks for showing these off to us, Orna. The finishing is an inspiration to those of us who try to do our own and who have a NP iPhone pouch in mind....

Oh my, this is my favourite colour and I would dearly love to have this eyeglass case. Yes, I too lose my glasses a lot. That's why I have so many pairs. I just 'lost' my newest pair of 'dollar store' glasses (with the multi-coloured frames) and I really wanted them. I had to think back to where it was that I used them last. Finally, the brain cells kicked in - the library. I used them to pick out some books on tape (people read while I sew) and there they were, in the library bag with my tapes and, whoops, my ID wallet too (library card, drivers' licence, credit cards, etc.

Congratulations to Jeannette! Lucky girl.

I seem to always be on the hunt for misplaced spectacles. But the most unusual loss came when I found them squeaky clean as I was pulling sheets from the washer and realized they had been wrapped up in the bedding headed for the laundry.

Love the color of the case and hope I win!

Lovely case! Thanks for sharing the image and the case.
I, like so many others, lose my glasses every-so-often. The time I had to look the longest, my glasses were in the freezer with the frozen vegetables...I had been putting away groceries and cleaned off the counter...silly! It took giving up the search and starting dinner to find them. Thank goodness! Can't read a thing without them!

Thank you for the opportunity for the giveaway.

I have more of a "where are the sunglasses" hunt. Depending on the day they can be either in my purse, in the car or in the truck. I've even left them behind in my horse trailer. Your bag would be something NOT ever left behind.

Lovely eye glass pouch and it would look great holding my i-phone. I don't wear glasses, but I do carry my i-phone in an eye glass pouch which prevents scratches and I ALWAYS know where the phone is. Love the colors of the pouch.

This is an easy one! On the stitching table, buried under the instructions, or the thread, or the project case! This is gorgeous!

Sassy  – (July 26, 2010 at 11:58 AM)

Congrats, Jeanette!

I don't know which is worse, losing your keys or your glasses as you can't see to find your keys unless you have your glasses!

This eyeglass case is gorgeous!

I remember years ago looking for my glasses... at the time I was home alone. I looked everywhere. Come that night, crawled into bed, hubby next to me.... as he goes to shut off the light he asks me... you plan to sleep with your glasses on top of your head!

Found em!

Vickiw57 –   – (July 26, 2010 at 12:01 PM)

OH, what a magnificant eyeglass case. And, in my favorite color! I would be so proud to own such a lovely piece.

I am very dependant on my glasses since I am so nearsighted. However, I am able to stitch best with no glasses on during the day, strange but true. So, when I stitch, I lay them on the table, most of the time. When I have to get up and do something else, I need to find them immediately so I can see where I am going. One day when the stitching group was here I laid them down on the table, but they ended up bagged away in my friends threads and put in her stitching bag. What an emergency that became with no glasses in sight. We had to all go thru everything we had, all 6 of us, to find the missing spectacles. That was second only to my 2 yr old granddaughter taking off with them to her play area. I think I need to tie them to me for safe keeping!!

I "lost" my glasses one day. Checked and rechecked (several times in the same places). I looked high and low. Even called and visited the stores and restaurants I had been at the day I lost them. Alas, my $260 eyeglasses were nowhere to be found. Two days later I opened the right hand car door to put something in my car, and there were my glasses perched on the edge of the car door ready to fall out! Hallelujah!

sy  – (July 26, 2010 at 1:05 PM)

thanks for hosting the giveaway. the pouch is so pretty *_* i actually never lost my glasses >.< i wear them all the time, at night i put them on the dresser and first thing in the morning i grab them and put them on. i have went in the shower with my glasses on many times, i wouldn't realized i had glasses on until i try to wash my face which is more than halfway through the shower. my sunglasses in the car really need a pouch since it's scratched up pretty badly.

Oooh - I love the eyeglasses case as much as the needlepouch! Blues and greens are my favorite colors. I love how you finished this as well.

I once lost my eyeglasses for several days and had to wear my old pair. I always put them on the nightstand before bed - I am very nearsighted and can't see without them. Well, I looked all around the bed, on the floor, on/in the nightstand... even in the bathroom since that is the last place I go before bed. Nothing. When I finally went to change the sheets, there they were between the sheets and comforter (I swear I had looked there too). No, I don't make my bed every day ;) Not sure I would have found them then anyway. I had been very tired that night and have no recollection of taking them off and leaving them "in" the bed.

ooh that is so frustrating looking for your glasses! Sometimes it seems that you need your glasses on to find your glasses. I sometimes even try to blame the cats that they have hidden my glasses. One morning after searching for what seemed like an eternity for the glasses, they really did hide them! as they had curled up on and gone to sleep on them as they were taking their morning nap.
I would be so proud to have this gorgeous eyeglass case as mine!

Maybe if my mother had such a pretty glasses case, she wouldn't keep putting her glasses down in the oddest places!

I love your work as a designer!

My glasses are a running joke in my family. I can never find them and they are usually on top of my head. My grandkids one=ce asked why I have so many glasses and my all three of my sons replied at once, "because your grandmother cannot feel the pair on the top of her head."

Anonymous –   – (July 26, 2010 at 3:04 PM)

Oh wow, the last pouch was gorgeous, but this one is truly to die for (turquoise is my fave colour, so that's a no brainer for me! LOL). My story was very recent - I hunted for my glasses for 2 whole months off and on ... they're very low strength and just help when I'm night driving or driving long distances to make that focus a little more crisp ... anyway I finally gave up the hunt, as the winter nights were darker and my eyes were feeling the strain a little bit, so I bit the bullet and put my credit card forward for a 'cheap' pair online - no more than 24 hours later I was under my bed retrieving one of my slippers and lo and behold there was my glasses case, tucked in behind the junction box that my power cords plug into ... sheesh ... but now I have one new very stylish pair of specs and one old pair that I can leave in the car as a back-up! :D

I can't imagine this beautiful eyeglass case ever getting lost! When I mis-lay my glasses panic sets in as they are tri-focal lenses and costly to replace. I once discovered my hidden glasses underneath a needlework piece I had been working on. Cheryl K.

Oh so beautiful! please include my name too. I lost my glasses & found them under the cat. somehow she curled up beside me & the glasses were underneath. And, heaven forbid ... I didn't disturb the cat's nap to look underneath

enjoy the day -

What a beautiful case! Thanks for the giveaway!

My glasses once drop under the bed and we had to use a touchlight to finally find it.

The most recent incident is my handphone, last Sat night was the last I used, and I can't find it on Sun morning. Just couldn't find it till Mon morning when the alarm went off, it was "swallowed" up by the leather sofa!

Wow, your piece of needlework on the eye case is stunning! I really have not "lost" my glasses as I have to wear them all the time for the last 10-15 years. But, my first pair I probably left them under some needlework now and then that I have forgotten. Now, when I take them off to go to sleep, they go beside the bed on my night table. I have a basset hound who likes to punish me now and then for leaving him (i.e. took my pouch with the insulin pen and needles out of my purse and hid them from me for 2 weeks!) So, I need to keep them up where he won't take them - just in case! Oh crap, now I am going to worry he will take them! But, he did return the insulin to me unharmed. I keep them in a plastic bag in my purse and he got them out of my purse. Maybe I need a really pretty case like that for them for when I go to work etc. Honestly, my fur babies will be the death of me yet! Thanks for sharing your amazing needlework with us.

Love the colors and needlework design! I would be thrilled to own this piece of work from you.

I had the lasik surgery years ago but as I've aged I found that I needed reading glasses, especially for detailed needlework. I've lost glasses in project bags many times and finally went to the dollar store and bought about a dozen pairs of glasses so I have them all over the house now!

rosemaryschild  – (July 26, 2010 at 8:33 PM)

The last time I lost my glasses, I had set them on the counter by my sink in the bathroom. After I finished brushing my teeth, I looked around for them & they were nowhere to be found! My little shitzupoo Patty walked into the bathroom & dropped them at my feet! Needless to say I had to order new lenses as there were little bite marks on them.

Unknown  – (July 26, 2010 at 8:38 PM)

Once I couldn't find my glasses for hours, allday as a matter of fact! I had to go to work without them and drive I'm nearsighted! Wel when I got home there was my husband standing there with my glasses in his hands! I was solo mad because I had called and asked if he knew where they were. At the trine he didn't but he later realized that he didn't need a new prescription as we had talked about earlier because he had been wearing mine all day!!!

Debbie  – (July 26, 2010 at 8:45 PM)

This is absolutely gorgeous, Orna! I'd love to own a small piece of your work. I don't have a story of losing glasses because I keep many pairs of those cheap dollar store ones all over the house. There's always one where I am, when I need it! I do have trouble with the ones I keep in my pocketbook. I'm always struggling to dig for it all the way at the bottom. It's not in a case, which is why I need to win yours!

The case is absolutely stunning! I would be thrilled to win. My fingers are crossed.

Shame on me. I STILL can't find where I placed my 2nd pr of glasses so I wouldn't lose track of them! Sure could use this beautiful glass case to keep better track of them. Love the colors & thanks for the opportunity to win it.

It's hard to find my glasses without my glasses. Like most of us, I retrace my steps in an effort to locate them. When I'm truly desperate, I locate a pair of earlier glasses (which, strangely enough, have not strayed from where I expect them to be) and wear them for searching. If I could afford it, I'd have a pair of prescription glasses in every room. Don't know that it would keep me from losing them, but still...

Jill  – (July 27, 2010 at 11:45 AM)

Well, I'm blind as a bat - I can't even see my glasses on the nightstand in the morning, so I've never lost them. They are the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing I take off at night! But I'd love to case to put them in when I do take them off!

Jennifer  – (July 27, 2010 at 1:24 PM)

Wow, its absolutely beautiful!!

My glasses have thin black frames, and I'm practically blind without them, so I can't see them when I put them down on any of our furniture. I usually have to have my husband look around and tell me where they are, and if he's not home I have to walk around and look at every piece of furniture.

Unknown  – (July 27, 2010 at 5:44 PM)

Beautiful eyeglass case! I am impressed with your work. Thank you for this opportunity.

I would say my favorite story for a 'lost' pair of glasses was when I was in college and I desperately needed them for my ‘oh so typical’ stadium seating class that I needed to hike too. I remembered having them just a few minutes earlier but alas they were nowhere to be found. I tore the dorm room apart looking for my glasses. After finally admitting defeat I threw myself rather dramatically (note: college) on my bed. Let’s just say I found my glasses with my rear end and had bended frames to show for it. I am sure I impressed my fellow students that day. lol

LOVE ALL THE DEDICATION IN THE CASE.
WELL, I'M BLIND, TOTALLY, SO I DON'T DRIVE WITH OUT THEM. MANY OCACIONS I LOOSE THEM; ONE OF THOSE I WAS LIKE CRAZY LOOKING FOR THEM, AND MY HUSBAND START TOUCHING MY HEAD, AND THEY COME OUT FROM BETWEEN MY HAIR.LOL

I will have to share my mom and a friend of her's story instead of mine. They had similar glasses in style. My mom always puts her glasses on her head when not in use....she accidentally put her friends glasses on and drove off with them. Well the friend couldn't find them and my mom couldn't figure out where the extra glasses came from for a while. They still laugh about that time.

Beautiful case!!!

Pierrette =^..^=  – (July 28, 2010 at 7:25 PM)

Hi Orna,

Actually my biggest problem trying to locate my eyeglasses have mainly been when going out of the house and also while traveling.

The problem is due to the fact that for years I have been carrying with me two pairs of eyeglasses, one that is tainted that I used when outdoors and then I have this second pair which is not tainted that I use for stitching and reading and whenever I am inside.

So, I always have a pair stuck on top of my nose and this second pair that I am keeping with me for whenever I need a quick change of eyeglasses from indoor to outdoor and vice versa, so I only carry one case with me to save space.

So many times on trips, I have found myself struggling to try to find the right pair of eyeglasses in a hurry and not always succeeding very well like the time I went to Kentucky to visit the beautiful caves. Outside plenty of sunshine and then at the entry of the cave, it was almost pitch dark, well not quite but with my tainted eyeglasses I couldn't see a thing and I was there trying to find my regular eyeglasses that had found their way somewhere at the bottom of my purse of course among lots of extra objects that I always carry with me on trips as you just never know exactly what you will need like pills, kleenex, candies, small camera, pen, notebook, keys, money, credit cards, driver's license and so on.

Perhaps with your lovely eyeglass case life could become a little less hectic each time I leave my home not withstanding something lovely to look at and a great conversation piece as it would not go unnoticed compared to those you usually get at the doctor's office.

Hope I am the lucky girl who wins this giveaway. It will be treasured.

Pierrette

Juels  – (July 31, 2010 at 2:02 AM)

What a beautiful case, Orna! Yes, I do lose my glasses often. Sometimes on the top of my head, or on top of the alarm clark, the tool holder on the loom, and I have even sat on them (oops!). The best was when I was looking for my glasses, couldn't find them, so I looked in my purse. I didn't find my glasses, but I had inadvertantly picked up someone else's. Umforunately, I couldn't recall whose glasses they were, or where I picked them up.
