Ah the Boardwalk......

The Jersey Shore.
Those three words can conjure up very different images, depending on if you are an MTV viewer (read: Jersey Shore), or an HBO viewer (read: Boardwalk Empire). I have, however, decided to give our neighbor, New Jersey, the benefit of the doubt, after seeing this beautiful little cottage for rent. Touting a waterfall and Koi pond, it also has a stellar view of the Atlantic Ocean, and is big enough to house my little family and Shiri's little family! It had such charm, I couldn't resist....
The owner is a retired florist and landscape architect, as luck would have it, and has taste not often associated with TV's version of Jersey.
So come mid July we will set out, tickled pink, to spend a week in this extravagant setting, and barring any boardwalk gangsters or frat boys, I am hoping it will be a memorable family vacation! Have you ever visited the Jersey Shore? How was it? Leave me a comment and let me know about your experience.
I've spent time on the Jersey shore, and it was wonderful - so simple, family-oriented, great restaurants, beautiful beaches, fun bbqs and everything summer. Not sure where you will be, but I spent time in Brielle/Point Pleasant. PP has a amusement park, which is great at night with the lights. Enjoy!
My family has a house in Avalon on one of the Southern NJ barrier islands. I've only missed vacationing there one or two years since I was 5 year old. I've lived in Kentucky for the past 35 years; folks here don't understand how wonderful the Jersey Shore is, since they only know the MTV version!
I have driven though there and I really think it's going to be great. I am really looking forward to it--anyone have restaurant recommendations? I guess they should be kid friendly since we will have Nomi and Nina in tow!
Amazing photos I love that room!
